On the theme of new shops, Cork has a new vintage store! While faced with an hour to kill in Cork a few days ago I took a trip to see Turquoise Flamingo. A new vintage store which my bus drives past on a frequent basis. Taunting me with their window displays so badly that I have to now sit on the other side of the bus......So, I was delighted with what I found.Cork seems to have very very reasonably priced vintage clothing. Either that or I am so used to the crazy Dublin prices that Cork seems like a dream come true!
Turquoise is packed with some of the best vintage from any era. I immediately fell in love with a white tea dress with light green polka dots. I turned over the tag expecting around €70+ which you would be charged in Dublin, no, it was €22!!!!! Really?????
I didn't have much more time to look around sadly, as I had dithered too long eating a hot dog in the English market (no judgement please) but I am planning a return visit....I just hope that dress is still there.....
