Long ago, when Firstborn was struggling in school and life, I bought some inspirational plaques to hang in his room - and they are still there. The themes were Courage, Excellence, and Challenge. The colors matched his room and the photos were breathtaking. I always wanted to be able to make something like that myself and recently I have, with the help of Picnik and some great photos that Scout took.
I want him to think about a life that continues well after high school with all it's follies...
...resist negative peer pressure and think about what he truly wants to become,
and give some real effort and hard work to achieve his goals.

I have a few more of these I am working on, and when I get two or three together that are frame-worthy, I want to print them and place them near the desk where he does homework. And I may make some others, too, specifically for each of my kids and the challenges they face.
And along with these, I will talk to them and hug them every chance I get...
for that will make the biggest impact of all!
