I have some more robot doodles. I really enjoy doing these. There is no pressure or worry just fun with a brushpen and a scrap piece of watercolor paper. I used cold press watercolor paper and flipped it over to the "smoother side" the rough side is no fun to draw on especially with a brushpen. Doing these is so fun because it forces me to create something completely out of my head from scratch. I usually start by just making a simple shape with the pen and then building it from there. It is kind of like putting something together with tinker toys. I don't care if the robot's limbs wouldn't really work and I just let my creativity have free reign. The funnest part of this for me is how I arrange them on the page, and looking at them all when the page is full. Individually the robots to me are not as interesting but as a group they are quite fun! After the brushpen is dry, i took some sepia watercolor and splashed them as quickly as I could. I didnt want to get hung up on trying to make them all rendered and perfect. I really wanted a simple look.
