Midterm dinner

No classes were held today due to the post-observance of America's Independence Day. I spent the majority of  my time this afternoon in the UW Rome Center Library focusing on my writing assignments and presentations that would be due next week. I had difficulty finding reputable sources from printed books because all of my related topics have already been checked out of the system. It's funny: I haven't used a card catalog system since middle school...

The highlight of the day was the midterm dinner where all of the students gathered in the professors' apartment for a group feast. The catered meal consisted of salad, lasagna, and dessert pastries. It was nice to have an evening to just sit, eat, and do nothing (because throughout this entire program, I felt as if we were all going full-speed ahead). With less than two weeks left in Rome, we are all excited for our entrance into Turkey, the former capital of the Roman Empire. And as usual, we all went to get more gelato afterwards while the night was young.

More free dessert.
